8: U.S. Armed Forces - with worldwide base locations

U.S. Military.com: A comprehensive site with links and information on all branches of the military, including benefits and job information links for veterans; local recruiter locator. We highly recommend looking into military service for those 17-29 years old (Marines, 17-39 years old for Air Force enlistment) who are struggling with a career focus after high school. The military provides a great opportunity to become self-sufficient, get discipline and find a focus for your life. You can travel and make a new life while earning college and home-buying benefits, not to mention providing steady income for you and your family. Retire in twenty years with full benefits, or serve a required minimum of two to four years. There are active duty and reserve options.

A few examples of God's people in employment and trade situations:

 1. Joseph was dumped by his brothers and sold to slave traders, was falsely accused and imprisoned while a slave in Egypt, yet years later exalted to a prime minister position under Pharoah. In each of his job assignments, whether working as a slave, imprisoned, or second in command only to Pharoah, Joseph excelled and was respected for his wisdom and work ethic (Genesis chapters 39-50). 2. Jacob sent his sons to a pagan Egypt to buy grain during a famine (Genesis 42:2). 3. Nehemiah, in exile, worked as a cupbearer to a pagan Babylonian king (Nehemiah 1:11, 2:1). 4. Cornelius of Caesarea, the first Gentile convert to Christianity, was a Roman centurion -- a commander of 100 men (Acts 10).
